Informational Writing

In Writer's Workshop we are learning to write a How-to.
If you need a contractor, we have one in our class.

Students learned how to do research and create books on non-fiction topics.

The children made portfolios so they could take home their writing.
They learned about graphic organizers and how to fill in a report.

We shared our writing with our peers and asked for feedback.
Please read your child's informational writing and praise their efforts.

Take a look at how we do math.  These friends are
practicing addition.  They choose from activities listed
on a choice board.  We use manipulatives to solve problems.

We are learning to solve addition story problems.  Children
illustrate a given problem then write a number sentence.

Where were these shirts when we were kids?

Mrs. Rutherford invited folk artist from Asheville to our school.
They did a performance on different ways to tell a story.  They
entertained us with music, songs, puppetry, and dancing!

Airplane flight practice

The girls are signing a song we learned about
Hawaiian fruits from our big book.

A new twist on Rice Crispy treats.  We followed
the directions for How to make Rice Crispy Eggs. Yum!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
