Safety Day at the Park

Volunteers from the Pineville Fire Department showed
the children the equipment on the fire engine.
Mrs. Zelenz, our school counselor talked to the
children about good touches and bad touches.

A medic spoke with the class about the tools on his ambulance.

Officer Maggie talked about bike safety and staying away from guns.
She discussed stranger danger and asked the children to learn their
address and phone number in case of an emergency.
Mrs. Byrnarsky of the Red Cross taught the children water
safety tips. She taught them to swim with a buddy and to
never go in the water without an adult present.

Officer Gilmore, of the Charlotte Bite Prevention unit
taught the children how to approach a dog safely.
